Moonee Valley is all set for the summer
When considering moving to Melbourne, you’re not just purchasing a home – you are buying into all the vibrancy, comforts and liveliness that Melbourne has to offer. The city knows full well of this and wants you to embrace every bit of it.
Melbourne has launched a campaign called “Discover Your Own Backyard”, aimed at getting residents to experience all the fun and interesting things to see and do around their own neighbourhoods. This initiative has gathered recommendations from the local community and offers an insight into what’s happening and where you can go for a good time.
With Christmas and New Year right around the corner, it could be the perfect time to check out exactly what you can find in the peaceful, yet colourful City of Moonee Valley.
A good feed

My beating art
At the Clocktower Centre, the Morning Music programme has offered some great live performances over the last few months. The season will conclude in December with Karen Knowles the final act in this string of performers. From 11am on December 15, she will be singing some of Australia’s favourite Christmas songs, so if you’ve already missed the other singers, come on by and catch a morning tune from this terrific artist.
You might find yourself inspired to pick up a pen or brush and begin your own artistic endeavours.
Art has always played a big part in the region’s rich culture. This holiday season, you’ll get to enjoy your share at the Incinerator Gallery, Moonee Valley’s visual arts centre. There is a great range of specialist programmes and classes for budding artists both young and old. Furthermore, the gallery is hosting an exhibition called “The Summer Show”, which will run until January 17. What makes it a truly unique event is that it displays the work created in these classes, celebrating the creative community of Moonee Valley. Furthermore, visitors will also get the chance to engage in variety of activities and workshops run by Oliver Cloke, Georgina Humphries and other contemporary artists.
If you’re moving to Essendon real estate or homes in other nearby suburbs, come and show your support for these local artists. Who knows, you might find yourself inspired to pick up a pen or brush and begin your own artistic endeavours.
